What our guests have said

My experience in Nürnberg with Axel was amazing! One of the highlights was getting to see the “Marriage Carousel” sculpture, which I thought was such a unique and clever art installation. I also really appreciated all of the historical references throughout the tour and getting to learn more about some of Axel’s favorite places in the city. He was even kind enough to take me to one of his favorite Nürnberger Bratwurst shops so I could try them for the first time!

Experiences like this are what make Germany feel so much more accessible and welcoming. Thank you so much, Axel, for such a wonderful experience and for making my first time in Nürnberg so special!

My time with Marcus was great! What I could say is that, I had had the chance to walk around the old town the day before, but it is completely different when you do it with someone who loves their city and who likes to share what they know with others. Now I see the city in a different way.

Thank you very much!

The "Greet" with our greeter Brigitte was a ten out of ten! She showed us important sites that enabled us to appreciate Nürnberg's history and combined the information with stories and her own experiences, which added richness and depth. We loved being guided down an alleyway to see the modern art museum building from a different perspective or rounding a corner into a quiet garden at the castle most people miss. The tour shaped our subsequent days in Nürnberg, because it gave us a clearer overall sense of the city and its roles in historical events. More than anything else, though, we loved getting to know our greeter, who transmitted her enthusiasm for Nürnberg to us. We cannot recommend the Nürnberg Greeter experience more highly. It exceeded all expectations.

Thank you again for arranging this fantastic opportunity for us.

Best wishes,

We are delighted to have spent a couple of hours in the company of Stefan. His warm welcome and friendly conversations made the visit to Nürnberg special and unique. We highly recommend this experience as it gives a true flavour to the city's past and present landscape.

We really did have a wonderful time with Astrid and Siggi, who showed us around Nuremberg—a beautiful city we hadn’t visited before.

We really enjoyed Siggi’s “little stories,” and appreciated that we could converse in French, since our knowledge of German is more than limited!

We hope to return to Nuremberg to get to know the city better and, in particular, to visit the museum—provided, of course, that the DB allows it…

Thanks again to Astrid and Siggi,

The Greet led by Barbara and Manfred was fantastic and not only fully met our expectations but actually exceeded them. Just as we’d hoped, we got to see a lot of things you don’t usually see on regular city tours. We especially enjoyed visiting the two craftswomen and, of course, the perfect finale at the Tucher beer garden with a Rotbier.

We wish the Nuremberg Greeters all the best for the future and many more “Greets.” Best regards also to Barbara and Manfred.

Greetings from the beautiful Kirbachtal

We had a wonderful time with Brigitte. She answered all our questions and gave us a great introduction to Nuremberg with lots of interesting information. Visiting that great café together was also fantastic.

We’ll have fond memories of Nuremberg. Thank you so much for your enthusiastic tour, dear Brigitte.

Our group had a really good time with our walk. We were pleasantly surprised that we had 3 Greeters for the 6 of us. We saw a lot of history and grand architecture of Nuremberg. It was very easy to understand Scott. The pace and length of the walk was just right for us seniors. Scott was very flexible to meet us where we want and at the time that works for us. Really appreciate that.

Linda and I really enjoyed our time with Jürgen, our Greeter. He is very knowledgable with Nuremberg and showed us a lot of hidden beautiful places that we can hardly find otherwise. We enjoyed the tour a lot.

Hi Barbara and Manfred,

We’d like to thank you very much for your Greet. The stopover in Nuremberg was well worth it for us. Thanks to you, we got a very personal glimpse of Nuremberg. With you, we were also able to enjoy Nuremberg a bit off the beaten path and through personal interaction.

Dear Greeters,

It’s been a few days since our visit to Nuremberg, and we still fondly remember the guided tour through the Südstadt with Stefan and Siggi. We spent some wonderful and interesting hours exploring a part of Nuremberg whose diversity isn’t covered in the usual travel guides. Of course, this was made possible by the fact that Stefan lived in the Südstadt for many years and knows the area inside and out. The Südstadt is a neighborhood where people from different nations and cultures live together, and it combines a variety of architectural styles. Stefan was able to tell us a lot about the development of this neighborhood and took us to many beautiful spots in the Südstadt. For example, the Aufseßplatz, the Humboldt-Säle, and a small castle that probably no tourist in Nuremberg has ever found, let alone seen. After the entertaining tour, we naturally wrapped up the Greet in the Südstadt with an iced coffee or a wheat beer.

The Greeters’ tours thrive in particular on the fact that you usually have a Greeter all to yourself and aren’t led through the city as part of a large group. This naturally leads to a personal exchange, which made our visit to Nuremberg a special experience.
