Nuremberg Greeter and Sustainability
We show our guests the city in a very personal way – authentic, volunteer-based, and sustainable. Because real tourism requires more than selfies and souvenirs: It requires encounters, respect, and appreciation.
As part of the international Global Greeter Network movement, we are committed to sustainable tourism in Nuremberg, based on human touch, intercultural exchange, and local perspectives. Our city walks are free of charge, personalized, and promote dialogue between guests and locals – without any commercial motive.
What makes our greets sustainable?
- ✅ Climate-friendly travel: Our walks take place on foot or by public transport – climate-friendly and at a slower pace.
- ✅ Resource-saving: We do not use flyers, merchandising or booked tours – encounters instead of mass processing.
- ✅ Socially committed: Our greeters are volunteers and are happy to share their knowledge and stories with guests from all over the world.
- ✅ Strengthening local identity: We show places that are not in any travel guide – from favorite cafés to hidden courtyards to living culture of remembrance.
- ✅ Contribution to the SDGs: We contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Sustainable travel – human encounters
Our greets stand for gentle, respectful tourismthat connects people – regardless of origin, language, or age. We believe: Those who travel with their eyes open change – and the world changes with them.
Experience Nuremberg off the beaten track – with a greeter at your side. Sustainable. Personal. Unforgettable.
